Re: When & Where Do You Ride?

To all that missed  the Flagler Rotory 100.This is how it went down in the lead group.Prior to the ride Devin and I had talked about riding casual and having fun(20mph average)Then Dave Viney showed up.The ride stayed calm down Rt.100,once we turned south on A1A it started to pick up and a lead group of about 50 riders started to break away,Dave,Devin,Martin, and I and a few guys from P.C. went to the front and the pace went up.Most of the other riders wanted to be in the pack but no one wanted to do the work.Once we hit Beach st the pace went up again. The ride stayed around 30mph almost all the way to US-1.Devin and Dave kicked it up again and reduced the field to about 10 to 15 riders, then it dropped to the 24-28 mph range all the way to the 50 mile mark where Devin,Martin, and I stopped for water.Dave continued on with about 10 guys.At this point in the ride the average speed was 25.5 for 50 miles. The second half of the ride slowed up to about 23-25 all the way to St.Augustine.Then at mile 75 we turned south into a head wind up to 20 mph.We still managed to keep it around 20-21 mph south to 100.At the end of the day we finished with a 22.6 mph.Not bad for a hundred miles. Thanks to all that pulled you know who you are.Devin,Martin,Grahm, killed it.See you on the road.                                                                                                                                Curtis Eaby

Re: When & Where Do You Ride?

Whats up everyone,Ive had several riders ask about the Deland ride that I've put together THIS IS NOT THE WEDNESDAY AIRPORT RIDE.I would like to get a weekly or bi-weekly ride going. The usual time has been about 8:00a.m. Sunday mornings from the sterling sports complex on Marsh road. The ride is very flexible it can be from 40 to 80 miles depending on the mood of the ride,it does get fast at times but we always regroup and we do not drop people(someone will come back and get you if you do get dropped). The course has several miles of road when a car never goes by.It also has several rolling hill sections and high speed corners. The scenery is great and the earlier we go the cooler it is and the first half of the ride is mostly covered by shade. My plan is to post a map,so if anyone is interested on doing this ride feel free to call me on my cell phone386-882-6474 stay safe.

Re: When & Where Do You Ride?

I am new to the PC area and not certain if this is the right venue to contact riders in this area.  I am wanting to know the meetup local for rode bike riders.  Where and when do you meet in this area?

Thanks,

Tena

Re: When & Where Do You Ride?

I ride everywere.MTB and road,It anyone is interested.I try to go to Ocala as much as posible, with gas prices as high as they are the more the merrier.I also like to take the road bike to more hilly terrain than the local routes.I have a really cool loop in deland, and sugerloaf mtn(road).I like to ride moderate to fast.usually all day rides are the preferance.I have a 45mile loop at santos(MTB) that I like to ride. Its usually a 3 hour plus ride.Peace Out.
